Mission Improbable, Carrie Hatchett Space Adventurer Book 1

We have visitors staying with us this week, so apologies for the lateness of this newsletter. I’ve been busy showing my friends around Taipei and catching up on news from the UK.

My last newsletter included a reader poll on which of two book covers you liked best. The results are in! Counting all the Facebook, Twitter and email votes, cover A received 73 votes, and cover B received 117 votes, so B was the winner.

Actually, neither cover really lost. I’ll use cover A for Shadows of the Void book 9 and cover B for book 10, the series finale.

Many thanks for all your votes, comments and feedback. I’ll be bearing your opinions in mind when I choose the covers for my next series.

Some of the old timers among you might recognise the picture for this week’s email. This is the cover for Mission Improbable, book 1 in my Carrie Hatchett, Space Adventurer series. I’ve included the image in this newsletter because I want to tell you about a competition I have going on over at my Patreon site.

Every month my top tier patrons enter a prize draw for a signed paperback, and this month I’m offering something rather special! Soon after publishing Mission Improbable in 2015, I changed the cover to its current image. However, before changing the cover, I had some books printed.

I’ve sold most of those paperbacks, but I have a handful of books left with the original cover. I’m offering one of these first edition books as this month’s Patreon prize. No more books will be printed with this cover. Once they’re gone, they’re gone, so this really is something quite exclusive.

Not only that, my Patreon page is very new and I only have a few sponsors, so your chances of winning this book are high. Go here to see the page. Other rewards on offer include a free short story every month and your name in the acknowledgments in my next book. Even if you don’t want to become a sponsor, you can click on the video and see my cats!

Did you know that your fellow shipmates live all over the world in countries as diverse as Chile, Norway and the Philippines? I think that as we humans spread out into the Solar System and eventually the Milky Way, our nationalities will matter less to us, and we’ll think of ourselves more as global citizens.

But when will we begin that process by sending a manned mission to Mars? in the 2020s, 2030s or later? What do you think? Let me know on Facebook, Twitter or email me at jenny@jjgreenauthor.com

Happy reading!
