The Galathea Chronicles, Shadows of the Void Books 1 – 3

It’s time for a Starship JJ Green bulletin. I hope you’re enjoying your space voyage. This week we’re going interstellar with aliens, space battles and high drama amongst the stars.

I’ve been working hard on book 9 of Shadows of the Void. Jas Harrington and her companions escaped Mars and made the short jump to Ganymede, where they meet representatives from the Transgalactic Council.

If you’ve read my Carrie Hatchett books, the council’s name might ring a bell. The Shadows of the Void series is set in the same universe, but a couple of hundred years later. The Council still exists, and its managers belong to the same species as the terrifying but lovable Gavin.

Today, I wrote the scene where Jas meets the creatures. I love writing descriptions of these giant insectoid aliens. The eagle-eyed among you might have already realised that they appeared in Burned.

But news isn’t all I have in your ship’s newsletter this week. I have a great bargain offer from scifi author, Mark R. Healey. His new release, Dawn of Procyon, is 99 cents, but only for a limited time. See below for more details.

A distant planet. A deadly secret.

Seventeen years after it began, the interstellar war has taken its toll: the inhabitants of Earth are desperate to find a way to defeat the Argoni, a merciless and horrifying alien race.

Light years away from the fighting, mechanic Landry Stanton lives a peaceful, mundane life on the desolate planet Procyon One, and that’s just the way he likes it.

But when an unauthorized trip to the other side of the planet leaves him shipwrecked and stranded alongside a hostile alien that wants him dead, Landry discovers a terrifying secret: the Argoni threat is greater than anyone back on Earth imagined.

With his oxygen and water running out, and with no way to warn the United Earth Marines, Landry’s lonely fight for survival becomes a battle for humanity itself.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question about the qualities needed to travel to and live on another planet. I received lots of useful replies.

I need your help again! Please see below for my final two book covers for books 9 and 10 of Shadows of the Void.

I want to save the best cover for the final book of the series. Which one do you prefer, A or B? Please let me know on Facebook or Twitter, or write to me at jenny@jjgreenauthor.com

A                                                                        B

I’m listening to the rain as I write this. Here in Taiwan they have what they call Plum Rains in spring. When the plum trees are in flower, the short, heavy, warm showers start.

I suppose if it has to rain, Plum Rains are the best to have.

I hope life is treating you kindly in your part of the world.

Happy reading!
