Well, my goodness. One of the reasons we returned to the UKwas  to get away from extreme weather! (Not really – I actually loved the tropical rainstorms of Taiwan). But I was very surprised last weekend when my extended family phoned to say they couldn’t make the Sunday dinner party I’d planned, due to the approach of Storm Ciara. When the storm arrived it was clear they’d made the right decision. Poor Britain was battered by 60 mph winds and heavy rain.

I’m sure you know what it’s like when your guests cancel at the last minute. Suddenly you find yourself with mountains of food and no one to eat it. But we bravely rose to the challenge. I’d made enough chocolate raspberry brownies to feed eight. Below you can see how many were left a couple of days later.

One positive outcome of all this was I had more time for writing. More on that in Publishing News. Before you pop down to read your update, check out C. Gockel’s fantastic Archangel Project. The first book in this highly acclaimed space opera series is free and the second book is only 99 cents. Both books are available all vendors.

Archangel Down

Archangel Down

In the year 2432, humans think they are alone in the universe. They’re wrong.

Commander Noa Sato plans a peaceful leave on her home planet Luddeccea … but winds up interrogated and imprisoned for her involvement in the Archangel Project. A project she knows nothing about.

Professor James Sinclair wakes in the snow, not remembering the past twenty four hours, or knowing why he is being pursued. The only thing he knows is that he has to find Commander Sato, a woman he’s never met.

A military officer from the colonies and a civilian from Old Earth, they couldn’t have less in common. But they have to work together to save the lives of millions–and their own.
Every step of the way they are haunted by the final words of a secret transmission:

The archangel is down.

Noa's Ark

Noa’s Ark

First contact didn’t go as planned…

Time Gate 8, one of humanity’s portals between the stars, has been overrun by a mysterious alien intelligence, and the planet Luddeccea is now cut off.

Haunted by those she left behind, Commander Noa Sato is on a desperate mission to save her homeworld. Navigating the ancient Ark, she seeks a hidden gate that will transport her ship to Earth and the Galactic Fleet. But the Luddeccean system harbors dangers, and so does her crew.

The only crew member she completely trusts is James Sinclair, but he doesn’t trust himself.

James isn’t the man he once was. He has a hunger that is never sated, kills without regrets, and is fitted with extraordinary augments he doesn’t remember getting. Can James control his augments, or will they control him?

In a future where almost all humans are augmented, James’s answer and Noa’s mission will determine the fate of the human race … and the enemy is already within the gates.

Publishing News

In another three days – if all goes to plan – Mercenary Mage will be finished and ready to send to my editor! I’ve loved writing about Carina Lin again. This part of her story includes starship battles, divided loyalties, romantic conflicts, deception, intrigue and some new, outlandish characters. I think you’re going to love this next installment in the Star Mage Saga. Remember, you can get a pre-release copy on Patreon.

The second piece of good news is that I’ve created an audio book of Generation, book one in my Shadows of the Void series. If you’d like a free copy, write to me at jenny@jjgreenauthor.com and let me know. I’ll also be putting the offer on the shipmates’ Facebook page.

Enjoy your books!
