I have plenty of exciting news to share with you this week. I have last week’s competition winners, a very special free book, the latest on Space Colony One and a photo of Cambridge! You can see it at the bottom of this bulletin. The sunset was catching the chimney tops and turning them red-gold. I couldn’t resist taking a pic.

COMPETITION RESULTS!

Did you enter last week’s competition? I put up a picture on Facebook and my website of someone who reminded me of a character from one of my series. To enter the competition, you had to name the character.

Shipmates who guessed the character would win a free copy of one of my ebooks.

The answer was Carina Lin from Star Mage Saga. Some guesses included Erin from the Aeon 14 series, Building New Canaan, and Jas from the Shadows of the Void, but they both have short hair.

The winners are: Victoria Watson, Richard Dinwiddie, Duff Kindt and Alice Nieuwendijk. Congratulations!

I’ll post another competition soon.

Publishing News

I sent off most of the final draft of Humanity’s Fight to my editor yesterday. I have to confess I made myself cry when writing the ending, but that’s usually a good sign. I think you’ll love this next installment in the story of Space Colony One. I should give you a heads up that most of the action takes place on the planet surface. Some science fiction readers prefer their books to be set on starships, but this is a space colonisation story, so what I am going to do?

Thanks to everyone who wrote to me about joining the Review Crew. If you’re already on the team you don’t need to do anything. You’ll receive your copy of Humanity’s Fight next week. But if you would like to join the crew there’s still time. Just write to me at jenny@jjgreenauthor.com with a link to a review you’ve already written on one of my books.

And now on to this week’s very special free book. Transgalactic Antics is book three in my Carrie Hatchett, Space Adventurer series. The best way to describe this series is to say it’s like Doctor Who but with a very human Doctor.

Book one, Mission Improbable, is already free, but I rarely discount later books in a series after the series is complete, and I hardly ever offer them free, so take your chance and snap up this one while you can.

Mission Improbable

If you like Dr. Who, you’ll love Mission Improbable.

Carrie Hatchett’s been a dog walker, ice cream seller and birthdaygram girl—the clean kind. All she wants is a proper job. But Transgalactic Intercultural Community Crisis Liaison Officer isn’t what she had in mind. And neither is saving the galaxy.

Carrie’s a low-achieving daydreamer. After providing a good home for her butt-ugly dog and crazy cat, her biggest challenge in life is to avoid being fired, again.

But a strange green mist sucks her beneath her kitchen sink, and an unusual clerical error leads to an offer she foolishly doesn’t refuse.

Watch out! Carrie Hatchett has a plan.

Carrie’s impulsive, reckless nature gets her in trouble again, and if she wants to keep her job as a Transgalactic Intercultural Community Crisis Liaison Officer, she has to pass remedial training.

Little does she know that her survival and the future of the galactic empire are also at stake.

When the evil mechanical aliens, the placktoids, return, Carrie must put together a plan that actually works. A plan to rid the galaxy of the placktoid menace, and save her life.
