Thank you so much if you sent me birthday wishes last week. I was overwhelmed with all the kind thoughts sent my way. I had a quiet day, exactly as I prefer, but one nice thing about it was that a friend from the UK was staying with us.
I took some time off writing to take my friend to visit some familiar tourist attractions here in Taipei. You can see a photo I took of one place here on our Facebook page.
Back to work! The question I’m answering from the shipmates’ survey this week is: Who would John Cusack prefer to make a movie with Samuel L Jackson or Nicholas Cage?
Not exactly the kind of question I was expecting, and it’s a tough one! I can only say that if John Cusack has any sense he would pick Mr. Jackson as his co-star. I think Mr. Cage’s star has faded.
I’ve been polishing up Building New Canaan book 3, Athens, in time to meet my deadline next week. You may remember that I held a competition to suggest names for galactic cocktails in the series. If you made a suggestion and haven’t yet seen it in the three books published so far, please let me know so I can make sure to include it in Athens.
Your 99-cent bargain books for this week are a 6-book box set, Adventures of the Starship Sartori, and Space Rogues, which is available in other book stores as well as Amazon. As always, check out the free or KU books below.
Starship Sartori
Collected together for the first time, read the opening six-book arc of USA Today Bestseller Kevin McLaughlin’s epic starship Satori series!
Dan Wynn thought he was grounded forever, but was given one last shot at the stars. Beth Wynn figured she’d never see her ex-husband again, until the adventure of a lifetime brought them back together.
John Carraway, billionaire businessman with a secret: an ancient starship with an intact wormhole drive.
Charline Foster, rogue hacker with a brilliant past. Andrew Wakefield, former elite soldier and the son John never had.
Together they would embark on a journey that launched humanity into the stars, and face perils that threaten not only their lives, but the future of everyone on Earth.

Space Rogues
Wil just wanted a crew for his ship.
He got a galactic conspiracy.
Wil Calder is a human, the only one to leave our solar system.
But that was years ago.
Now, he’s a lonely smuggler, looking for a crew, because space is lonely and boring.
Just a few folks to boss around once in a while, is that so much?
What he definitely isn’t looking for, a galactic conspiracy.
But that’s what he and his new crew find. They’ve just met each other and now they have to save the commonwealth from war, no big deal.
Does this untested crew and their entirely out of his depth human captain have what it takes?
Fans of Farscape and Firefly will love the crew of the Ghost.
Join the crew of the Ghost on the first of many fantastic adventures here.
Enjoy your books!
