The moment has arrived! I’m writing this from a hotel in downtown Taipei, about to spend my final night in Taiwan. Early tomorrow morning we’ll catch a flight to the UK and begin our new lives in Cambridge.
We’re taking back plenty of memories of good times, beautiful places and wonderful people, and lots of tea. Our eight years in Taiwan have been amazing. We will surely be back one day to visit the friends we made, reacquaint ourselves with delicious food and explore the parts of the country we didn’t manage to visit.
By a strange coincidence, I’ve also reached a watershed in my Space Colony One series. Now that the story of geneticist Cariad and farmer/wannabe explorer Ethan has concluded, humanity’s first deep space colony moves on to new adventures.
