It’s my favourite time of the week again, when I get to tell you about what’s been happening aboard Starship JJ Green and introduce you to some great scifi books. A couple of days ago I wrote to my readers at Patreon, welcoming new patrons Sarah and Jane, and now it’s your turn!
You’re probably not aware of it, but our starship is currently in orbit around Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s moons. I’m in the middle of writing Shadows of the Void book 9, the follow up to Mars Born. Jas, Carl and their companions travelled to a rendevous with the Transgalactic Council, and this book marks the series’ progress into galactic war, so it’s very exciting to write. There’s lots of action and heartache, but I won’t say anything else as I don’t want to give anything away.

Lastly, did you hear that Lindsay Buroker recently published a new book? I’m a big fan of her writing, and I loved this spin off from her Fallen Empire series, The Rogue Prince, which is 99 cents for a limited time.
Starseer, pilot, and animal lover Jelena Marchenko wants to prove to her parents that she’s ready to captain her own freighter and help run the family business. When she finally talks them into getting a second ship and letting her fly it, it doesn’t faze her that the craft is decades old and looks like a turtle. This is the chance she’s craved for years.
But it’s not long before the opportunity to rescue mistreated lab animals lures her from her parentally approved cargo run and embroils her in a battle between warring corporations. To further complicate matters, her childhood friend Thorian, prince of the now defunct Sarellian Empire, is in trouble with Alliance law and needs her help.
Torn between her duty to her family and doing what she believes is honorable, Jelena is about to learn that right and wrong are never as simple as they appear and that following your heart can get you killed.

Many thanks to everyone who left a review for Starbound, which currently has a review star average of 4.9 out of 5!
I’m going to leave you with a special goodbye from Taiwan. We had visitors from the U.K. last week and I took the chance to explore some more of my adopted country. We spent a wonderful afternoon in a wild hot spring, and here I am saying zai jian for now.
Happy reading!
