If you sent in a suggestion on how to celebrate my bestseller status last week, many thanks. Most of the suggestions involved strong alcohol and I couldn’t act on all of them–I really can’t hold my drink. But they were very much appreciated nonetheless.

I also received a few responses to the LGBT tag on Carthage. Most were bemoaning the need for that category these days. My take on it is that it helps readers who like reading about LGBT characters to find those books, so I can see the point of it. However I understand that viewpoints will differ.

By coincidence I’m running a sale on books in a humorous science fiction series that has a character who fits into the LGBT category. The series is Carrie Hatchett, Space Adventurer, which is light-hearted, very clean, and inspired by Dr.Who.

You might remember that I’ve been trying to offer my books to you direct. This means I can make them a little bit cheaper than in the shops and there’s no risk of the retailer erasing them from your ereader later. I’ve added ‘direct’ links below where you can download the file the same as you would one of my free books, Mission Improbable is free and Transgalactic Antics is 99 cents or 89 cents direct.

Next week’s bargain deal ends on Monday so I’ll be sending the ship’s bulletin a little earlier than usual.

Humorous science fiction series Carrie Hatchett, Space Adventurer

Mission Improbable by J.J. Green

Mission Improbable

If you like Dr. Who, you’ll love Mission Improbable.

Carrie Hatchett’s been a dog walker, ice cream seller and birthdaygram girl—the clean kind. All she wants is a proper job. But Transgalactic Intercultural Community Crisis Liaison Officer isn’t what she had in mind. And neither is saving the galaxy.

Carrie’s a low-achieving daydreamer. After providing a good home for her butt-ugly dog and crazy cat, her biggest challenge in life is to avoid being fired, again.

But a strange green mist sucks her beneath her kitchen sink, and an unusual clerical error leads to an offer she foolishly doesn’t refuse.

In settling a conflict between the mechanical placktoids and the mysterious oootoon, Carrie reveals a threat to the entire galactic empire.

Transgalactic Antics ebook

Transgalactic Antics

Watch out! Carrie Hatchett has a plan.

Carrie’s impulsive, reckless nature gets her in trouble again, and if she wants to keep her job as a Transgalactic Intercultural Community Crisis Liaison Officer, she has to pass remedial training.

Little does she know that her survival and the future of the galactic empire are also at stake.

With the help of her level-headed bestie, Dave, and her fellow alien trainees—an intelligent slug, a mysterious box, a large green blob, and a cylinder of hair—she might just succeed. But so much stands in her way. A brain scan confirms that she isn’t cut out for the job, and a blast from the past rears her beautiful head, sending Carrie into a crisis of self-doubt.

When the evil mechanical aliens, the placktoids, return, Carrie must put together a plan that actually works. A plan to rid the galaxy of the placktoid menace, and save her life.
