A certain disease has occupied the news recently, and though we all have concerns about what’s happening, perhaps you’re getting tired of hearing about it.

Let’s talk about more pleasant subjects, like free books. Reading is one of those occupations you can do virtually anywhere, anytime (preferably not while driving), and escaping into other worlds is a wonderful distraction from depressing updates.

But it can also get expensive, especially if you’re a real bookworm. So I’d like to help ease the burden a little by featuring free books for the next couple of weeks. This week it’s Allies and Aliens and The Concordia Deception. Next week it’s going to be the first three books in the Star Mage Saga. However, due to certain Amazon T&Cs, I can only offer book one, Star Mage Quest, free for one day, so you’ll have to be quick!

Don’t forget you can also read the first three chapters of book four, Mercenary Magehere.

On a side note, other shipmates at our Facebook group are helping to support each other with chat and banter during these difficult times. You’re very welcome to come and join us.

Fight. Survive. Repeat.

The rules of a soldier are simple.

Born into service of the Regime, Commander Sela Tyron is about as subtle as a hammer. To hammers, any problem can look like a nail, but things aren’t always that easy. When Sela is abandoned with her team on a planet full of insurrectionists, things get complicated.

A daredevil rescue by her commanding officer reaps deadly consequences, forcing Sela to choose between the only life she’s ever known and the fate of the man she’s duty-bound to protect.

Her whole life was a lie. And that’s the good news.

Suit up. Time to join the fight here.

The Concordia Deception, Space Colony One, book 1

Facing the enemy at the gates

All her life Cariad had one dream: to participate in humanity’s colonization of deep space. After topping her field as a geneticist, and then spending 184 years in cryonic suspension, she’s achieved her goal.

But the new planet is not the paradise the scientists predicted. Alien predators come out at night, ready to feast on the new arrivals. What’s more, saboteurs have stowed away aboard the ship and are determined to destroy the new colony.

To defeat the settlers’ enemies, Cariad must enlist the help of the disgruntled Gens, last in the line of generational colonists who lived and died on the long journey to the stars, and who hate the Woken scientists.

Infighting and strife plague Cariad’s efforts. If the colony’s factions don’t pull together, the flame of hope for humanity will be snuffed out.

The Concordia Deception is book one in the compelling, provocative space colonization epic adventure, Space Colony One.

Publishing News

Unfortunately, the progress of Accursed Space has stalled somewhat due to the upheavals we’re all facing. Poor Carina is stuck in a space battle as she tries to acquire a very special starship. I’m going to do my best to make the deadline to publish first to Patreon subscribers on 10th April and 1st May to Amazon, but I may not make it.

On a happier note, the audio book of Stranded, book two in Shadows of the Void, is nearly finished and a link to a free copy should be ready next week!

In other news, my family and I are self-isolating right now. I hope that, wherever you are, you’re safe and well.
