J.J. Green

It’s long been my ambition to create a space where you can meet other shipmates and share sea shanties, rum, and spacesickness tips. I think I finally got it right this time. The previous Facebook page I made would only allow me to post in the main area. Anyone else’s posts were relegated to a barely visible strip to the side, which meant no one else saw them. This time, I created a Facebook group and called it Starship JJ Green Shipmates. Please feel free to pop over, have a peek at my superhero cat and say hi! Post photos of your pets, complain about the cancellation of The Expanse, tell us about how everything was so much better in the past, say whatever you like. I have only two rules: please post nothing higher than PG-rated and always be respectful of other posters.

I’m pleased to report The Concordia Deception is on the starting blocks and ready to race. If you would like a copy to review, please reply to this with a link to a review you’ve already written on one of my books. Current review crew members: you’re fine. You’ll be receiving your copies soon. If you want to step out of this round, just let me know.

On the subject of free copies of books, if you try to download from one of the links below and receive the message that the download limit has been reached, it probably means that Bookfunnel have already sent you that book. Sometimes shipmates have problems with uploading the books to their reading devices, and if that’s happened to you, Bookfunnel are very helpful with advice.

This week I’ve been redrafting The Fila Epiphanycite>, the second book in the Space Colony One series. Meanwhile, it’s been growing hotter and hotter as another scorching summer approaches. Thank goodness for air conditioners. I hope the weather’s been kind to you in your corner of the world.

I like strong female leads in science fiction, and if you’re the same, you’ll probably love both the 99-cent books I’m featuring this week. Check out Death Dealer by T.G. Ayer and M.D. Cooper, and Starfall by Jessie Kwak.

Science fiction novel Death Dealer

Death Dealer T.G. Ayer & M.D. Cooper

The Inner Stars are backward, dangerous, and rife with corruption.

Nerishka works for a secret organization known as the Hand, a group dedicated to keeping the Inner Stars from devolving into chaos.

When the Hand uncovers someone in the Ayra System researching picotech—a technology that could destroy entire worlds—the call is made to assassinate the kingpin. A perfect job for Nerishka.

But her in-system contact is missing, and the target has connections to even more dangerous research. Unknown assassins make a play for her life and coincidences become enemy action. To complete her mission, Nerishka must work with a man she left by the wayside decades ago as they search for the masterminds behind the scenes.

Nerishka’s up to the challenge. She didn’t earn the name Death Dealer by playing nice.

Science fiction novel Starfall

Starfall Jessie Kwak

He swore to protect his goddaughter. But now the price may be too high.

Starla Dusai is fifteen, deaf — and being held as an enemy combatant by the Indiran Alliance. Willem Jaantzen is a notorious crime lord about to end a fearsome vendetta — and most probably his life. When he learns his goddaughter has been captured by the Alliance, he understands he’s her only hope. But saving a girl he barely knows means letting his wife’s murderer walk free. Will Jaantzen be able to put aside his anger before Starla’s time runs out?

STARFALL is the first book in Jessie Kwak’s Durga System series, a fast-paced series of gangster sci-fi stories set in a far-future world where humans may have left their home planet to populate the stars, but they haven’t managed to leave behind their vices. And that’s very good for business.

You’ll find captivating characters and heart-pounding adventures, all with Kwak’s customary sprinkling of wry humor.

Buy this book and immerse yourself in the gloriously seedy underbelly of the Durga System today. Snag your copy here.

Happy reading!
