Well, last week I was commenting how confusing things were aboard the starship, and I proved it in the bulletin itself! The sci fi boxset bargain, The Worlds of New Canaan, was 99c or 99p when I wrote the bulletin, but due to poor communication with Mal Cooper, the price went up to $2.99 or £2.99 soon after.

Sorry if you were disappointed. As it happens, you’ll have an opportunity to snap up a guaranteed sci fi boxset bargain next week when a special edition of the complete series of Shadows of the Void goes live, including exclusive bonus material.

Don’t forget to check your bulletin. This is a complete series, the equivalent of over 1,000 pages in a paperback.

On the domestic front, I promised a pic of the ship’s cat. He’s getting to be quite an old boy, but now spring is in the air, he’s been roaming and gamboling in the local gardens like a cat half his age. I did manage to snap a photo today while he was recovering from his adventures, which you can see at the bottom of the bulletin.

That’s my dressing gown he’s sleeping on. Do your pets commandeer your clothing too?

A hero with big expectations. A daughter who doesn’t want to live in his shadow.

Siti Kassis, daughter of the “Hero of Darenti Four,” doesn’t know what she wants out of life. A lot of her friends are taking time to travel and see the galaxy. But her father wants her to attend the Academy and follow in his footsteps.

It’s an exciting mission and a chance to make history–even if twenty years in deep sleep is a bummer of a way to start her “gap year.” But when they arrive, nothing is as they expected. Honor and glory await those who graduate from the Explorer Academy. Or so she’s been told…

Fresh from the mission to Earth, Siti Kassis, daughter of the “Hero of Darenti Four,” enrolls in the Colonial Explorer Corps academy–the same academy where her father was the captain of the grav-ball team, and still holds flight records for the extreme piloting competitions. As the daughter of a revered alum, she’s expected to lead the legacy students to victory in every training scenario and game.

But Siti wants to prove her own worth. Shunned by the other legacies when she refuses to play by their unfair rules, she joins a band of misfits for her class’s most arduous trial: Prime Survival Week.

When Siti and her friends discover they’ve been dropped into PSW with no supplies, no rules, and no end, will they figure out how to survive? Or will they devise a plan to win?
