What Do You Want For Christmas?

Shadowrise, Shadows of the Void Book 4

I know what I’d like. More time!

I’ve just spent the last week working like a crazy thing to finish Shadowrise, the fourth book in my Shadows of the Void serial.

In this episode, Jas, Carl, and other members of the Galathea’s crew return to Earth, only to find that the mysterious Shadows continue to plague humankind.

The book should appear on Amazon on Tuesday or Wednesday, and I’m going to discount it to 99 cents for the first 48 hours. When it’s live, I’ll drop you a quick line to let you know.

I’ve also been putting together an omnibus edition of the first three books, entitled The Galathea Chronicles, which will come out the same day as Shadowrise, or maybe earlier. I’m excited about this because it means I’m over one third of the way through my project. The Shadows of the Void serial will be split into three bundles of three, four, and three books when it’s complete.

How has your week been? Have you been gearing up for Christmas? My recent readers’ polls and Halloween competitions were so much fun, I spent part of the week planning how to up the ante for the rest of the holiday season.

I’ve been putting together a list of Christmas competitions and prizes for you guys. I’ve got Amazon gift certificates, signed copies of paperbacks, free ebooks, and the opportunity to have your name included in a book as a character as some of the prizes. More information soon on how to enter to win.

In the meantime, here are some bargain books!

Drew Avera’s Broken Worlds, the first book in his series, The Alorian Wars, is only 99 cents for a limited time. Click here for your copy.

The Greshian Empire has reached across the Alorian Galaxy, using its naval might to bring its enemies to their knees. Dead planets float in their wake as the empire fights to assert themselves as the supreme race. Ensign Brendle Quinn has spent five years loyally serving the Greshian Empire in their relentless quest to dominate the Alorian Galaxy. But as his ship decimates planet after planet, he finds his sympathies swinging towards their defeated enemies.

Sergeant Anki Paro, a Luthian Marine, has been anxiously awaiting the call to deploy. As the last line of defense against the crushing Greshian forces, she hopes the time has finally come where her world can stand against tyranny and protect the rest of the worlds in her sector of the Alorian Galaxy. As her path towards war draws near, Anki begins to notice a shift in balance as her society prepares itself for imminent destruction. Questions of misplaced loyalties lead her to wonder if the world she is trying to save has any real intentions of surviving. As Brendle and Anki’s worlds collide, they find themselves in an unlikely alliance to try to stop the full might of the Greshian Empire before there’s nothing left to fight for.

The Alorian Wars is a military science fiction series for fans of The Expanse, Star Trek, and Old Man’s War. If you want a fast-paced space opera adventure then look no further, The Alorian Wars is here!

I’m proud to say that one of my stories appears in this new anthology, The Newcomer. For the temporary price of 99 cents, you get 12 great scifi stories from a curated list by writers including Alasdair Shaw and J Naomi Ay. The Newcomer goes live on Tuesday. Go here to pick up a copy from your favourite retailer.

From a young couple struggling to look after their baby to a new captain’s reluctance to take command of her ship, and from a sun-addled stranger’s appearance in town to the emergence of a sentient AI, the twelve tales presented here explore the central theme of an arrival by someone or something new. There’s even an alien puppy.
