February is knocking on my door and I just had to put the heater on (a rare event here in Taiwan). It looks like it’s time for a ship’s bulletin.
One of the greatest pleasures of indie publishing is being able to publish your writing whenever, wherever and however you want. Another great pleasure is being able to share your work with whoever you want. This week I pressed publish on the first book in my most exciting project yet: Star Mage Exile, and I’m pleased to deliver it free to you today.
I’m venturing into space fantasy, where science fiction is mixed with the mystical and inexplicable. Star Mage Exile is the prequel to the dark space fantasy trilogy, Star Mage Saga, and it’s free to all Starship JJ Green shipmates. So download and enjoy! However, be warned that this series is very dark. If you prefer lighter writing like my Carrie Hatchett series, this isn’t the book for you.
I can say this with some confidence as I recently completed the first draft of book one, Daughter of Discord, and it’s even darker than the prequel!
If space fantasy isn’t your cup of tea, don’t worry. I have another free book for you that’s straight science fiction. Check out D.M. Pruden’s The Ares Weapon. Then join me for more news below.
J.J. Green’s first dark space fantasy saga

A suicidal rescue mission…

So when a young boy is kidnapped and Carina embarks on a suicidal mission to save his life, she faces a terrible decision. For the rescue plan to succeed, she must Cast. But if she does, it could mean the end of everything for her.
Star Mage Exile is the prequel to the dark, exciting space fantasy, Star Mage Saga.

What’s Coming Up?
You know that mad rush that precedes going away on holiday, when you’re trying to get everything done before you leave? I’m in the middle of that right now. It will be lovely to go to Australia and New Zealand and catch up with friends, but it’s feeling like a lot of hard work to reach that moment.
So if you wrote to me or sent me a message to say you’d left a review, and I haven’t yet replied, I’m sorry. You’ll definitely hear from me in a day or two.
A couple of weeks ago I asked for your opinions on the blurb for Star Mage Exile and you gave me some fantastic feedback. I recently wrote the blurb for Daughter of Discord and I’d love to hear what you think. Pop over to Starship JJ Green to read it and comment.
I hope your life is more relaxed than mine at the moment.
Happy reading!
P.S. Generation is reduced to 99 cents and Stranded is reduced to $1.99 for a short time, so if you haven’t started the Shadows of the Void series yet, now’s your chance.
