Only four shipmates correctly guessed the mystery food posted last week. In case you didn’t see the bulletin or you need a reminder, I’ve included the pic again at the bottom.

Nick Murray and Neil Plucknett commented with the right answer, and Neil Holford and Julian White replied correctly on our Facebook page. Well done, guys! Thanks to everyone else who submitted an answer.

The Answer

The answer is two pieces of cod roe. In other words, cod eggs shaped into patties and deep fried. Now that I’ve written that out it doesn’t sound very appetising but let me assure you they are very tasty. Unfortunately, we’re becoming less and less used to eating all the parts of the animals we use for food and cod roe has become hard to find so I was super pleased to stumble across these by accident.

Feel free to comment about food you enjoyed that’s now unavailable or scarce.

What has this to do with science fiction?

Um.

Anyway…

News from the starship. In the list of series at the bottom you’ll see I’ve included a notice that Star Legend will leave Kindle Unlimited soon. I’ve pulled the plug on the re-enrolment of this series, and as soon as it’s free from the KU shackles it will go live at non-Amazon bookstores and the ship’s store.

If you really can’t wait, don’t forget the audiobooks and paperbacks are already available at most relevant sellers and your local library should be able to order them too.

This week’s book is a free boxset of great novels by indie authors.
