Many thanks if you answered the question posed last week about what readers want from authors (as well as books). Unfortunately, there’s a wrinkle in the plans for the starship that I’ll talk about in a minute.
First, bluebells. The last bulletin promised you a bluebell wood and here it is. Scroll to the bottom to see it. Beautiful, right? The chief engineer and I visited Langdon Hills, Essex, on a whim and discovered a woodland festooned with English bluebells. These flowers are more delicate than Spanish bluebells, which are invasive in the UK. Naturally, I believe ours are far superior (sorry to any Spaniards). You can see a few more pics on our Facebook page.
What’s the wrinkle in the starship plans? Well, most shipmates voted for SWAG as their most-wanted additional item. Pens, mugs, stickers, T-shirts etc., which would be great except for the fact that Patreon only delivers swag to monthly supporters. JJ Green patrons are only charged per new creation and no, I cannot write a book a month. Sheesh.
So, gotta think some more about that. One idea is a Kickstarter for a special, limited edition hardback of the final Star Legend book, The Defiant, when I can offer swag too. I’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime, your exclusive discount to Space Colony One book seven, Restitution is almost here. The preorders have gone out and the price will drop next week. Don’t forget to check your bulletin if you don’t want to miss out.
If you’re new to the story of humanity’s first deep space colony, now’s your chance to pick up the free prequel, Night of Flames. Honestly, I made a little mistake with this prequel in that it’s kind of integral to the whole series, which strictly speaking it shouldn’t be. But never mind.
Featured Book
A new world colony…
A moonless night…
An alien attack…
Ever wondered what it’s like to live on a starship? It was the only life Ethan knew.
On the first night of the new colony, he is one of the lucky few who are sleeping planetside. Most of the others are like him, Gens, bred and born on the starship. A few are Woken, who were revived from cryonic suspension two years prior to Arrival.
The colonists settle down to sleep, but Ethan is restless. A strange noise disturbs him, and so begins the fight for his life, the lives of the settlers, and the colony itself.
Night of Flames is the prequel to the space colonization epic adventure, Space Colony One.
