Today’s bulletin comes with an added dash of spookiness. As I’ve mentioned before, our starship recently relocated to Cambridge, UK. Your captain has been familiarising herself with the local area, and last weekend took a trip to a very strange place.

Beneath the town of Royston lies a unique, ancient, manmade cave in the shape of an old-style beehive. The cave walls are crammed with carvings, some recognisably Christian, some obscure. (I included one below.)

No one knows what the cave is for, or whose remains were inside (an incomplete skeleton) when the cave was discovered in 1742. One clue lies in the fact that two age-old tracks cross exactly where the cave sits: the Icknield Way, an Iron-Age road that runs east to west, and Ermine Street, a south-north Roman road.

No similar cave as been found anywhere in the UK or the world. I’m a cycnical, skeptical starship captain, but even I found the mystery creepy and intriguing! Do you know of any similarly strange places? Tell us about them on our Facebook page here, or write to me at jenny@jjgreenauthor.com and let me know. I’d love to hear about it.

PUBLISHING NEWS

Interstellar Mission Space Colony One

Interstellar Mission Space Colony One

Interstellar Mission has reverted to its regular price, but if you’re in Kindle Unlimited you can still download the book. Alternatively, wait for the release of Humanity’s Fight next month, when I’ll discount both books.

I’ve begun the process of making my books available in brick and mortar bookstores! Currently, J.J. Green print books are only available as print-on-demand at Amazon. But after paying an eye-watering amount for ISBN numbers, I can now upload my books to a site called Ingram Spark. Soon, when a reader asks for one of my books at their local bookshop, the shop will be able to order it for them.

Everything should be ready in time for Christmas. That might seem a long time away, but I have a lot of books!

Project Charon

Project Charon

Forcefully retired from a top-secret military project. Can she save humanity from itself?

On the backwater world of Cayelle, Tina Freeman runs a shop with her son Rex: fifteen years old, half-human, half-android with a massive chip on his shoulder about having been born without arms or legs.

The shop makes a modest profit, but when a creditor turns up wanting his money back, everything goes pear-shaped.
