Chocolate raspberry brownies and storm Ciara
Well, my goodness. One of the reasons we returned to the UKwas to get away from extreme weather! (Not really - I actually loved the tropical rainstorms of Taiwan). But I was very surprised last weekend when my extended family phoned to say they couldn't make the...
The Mercenary Mage is nearly here!
Secondly, I’m so happy with the progress of Mercenary Mage, I feel confident to announce the publication dates. Patreon subscribers (and the Review Crew) should receive their copies on 26th February, which happens to be my birthday! 🙂 Then the book will go live on Amazon on 24th March.
Paperback Competition Results and More News
As I said, Mercenary Mage is coming along a storm. Carina Lin is torn between her family and her merc buddies as she tries to find the secret galactic coordinates of Earth, the home of her ancestors. A quick heads up
Why am I blathering on about all this? It’s because I want to give you a heads up that I’ll be raising the price of book one in the series, Daughter of Discord, soon. So if you haven’t read this next part of the story after your free prequel Star Mage Exile, now’s the time to nab your copy.
Free signed paperback giveaway
I’m so pleased to be able to bring you something a little special in this bulletin. It may seem odd for a writer, but I don’t have many print copies of my books. I’m a bit of a minimalist, and moving from country to country forces me to limit my ‘stuff’ too. But I wanted to check the quality of the paperbacks I’m in the process of making available at bookshops, so I ordered a copy of Daughter of Discord. (You can see it below.)
Then I thought, hey, I can send out an autographed paperback as a prize! If you’d like a personally dedicated, signed copy of one of my books to sell for millions of dollars when I’m a household name…(er, sorry, I was getting carried away there). If you’d like a chance to win this book, which I’ll send anywhere in the world, please fill in this 5-minute survey Don’t forget to write your email address at the bottom so I can contact you if you win.
Space Colony One new release!
I’m happy and proud to announce that Final Onslaught is now available at your shipmates’ discount. This is the final book in the second part of Space Colony One, the story of humanity’s first deep space colony.
The shipmates’ discount of 99c or 99p is only available for a limited time, so it’s worth snapping up a copy even if you haven’t started this series yet.

Your Christmas gift
As I’ve been promising for the last few weeks, here’s your Christmas gift! Every year I write a new Carrie Hatchett Christmas story but in case you missed the previous years’ stories, I’ve bundled them all up into one book. If you haven’t met Carrie yet, she’s a kind of kooky detective for aliens. Read the stories to find out more.
Your opinion needed!
Which brings me neatly to my next point. 🙂 What do you think of the cover at the bottom of this bulletin? It’s book 4 of my Star Mage Saga, Mercenary Mage. I’ll be putting up the preorder soon and I want to check the cover is as awesome as I think it is.
You can let me know what you think here in our Facebook group or by commenting on this post.
Fantastic sci fi box set bargain
Many thanks to everyone who downloaded a free copy of The Concordia Deception last week. I’m including the book again for anyone who missed out, plus a great bargain book. Rika’s Marauders is 1600+ pages of exciting science fiction for only 99 cents or 99p.
Free Space Colony One book!
Another reason this week has also been full of fond memories is because I finally finished the second part of my Space Colony One series (more on that in Publishing News). To celebrate, I’ve made the first book free for you! This is the follow-on to your free starter prequel, Night of Flames.
Spot the ship’s cat
Final Onslaught is so close to being finished I can hear the starship engines. It’s later than I hoped unfortunately. It turns out that you can’t attend a writers’ conference and get some writing done at the same time. Still, I’m delighted with how the book has turned out. There’s deadly danger, action, shocking surprises and more than a few tears. It’s a fitting conclusion to the Space Colony One trilogy.
